Hi there,
On 7/18/09, a thin, dirty little foxhound (coonhound? looks like a tall beagle) showed up on my street in Highland, MI following a neighbor boy around. He has a collar but no tags or chip, and it kinda looks like his nails were trimmed, but it's hard to tell. I spent hours printing posters, inserting them into plastic sleeves, and attaching them to telephone poles at major intersections in 2 counties. I have many craigslist postings, a newspaper ad and have registered him on every lost & found site I can find.
In the meantime we cleaned him up and have been feeding him. He's very sweet, a beautiful dog, and I want him to find his real home or a new home. I have 4 animals already, I don't have the time or money to take in another dog. He looks out the window and whines, he misses his home or would want to be someone's special dog.
I was hoping that if I posted on a dog lover's forum, perhaps someone would know how to find the owner.. maybe he's AKC? Or maybe someone would find it in their hearts to consider taking this sweet boy in, someone with a fenced yard or the time to walk him regularly?
Also if you could check out his image, is he a foxhound or a coonhound? I have gotten various suggestions about the breed, I'm unfamiliar with it. I just thought he was a really big beagle at first.
