I charge as a private guide, interpretor & advisor here in France for biz & pleasure & people get annoyed at my fees until they get shafted w the hotels! And more! Then, they get mad at me after they get burned cuz they didn't hire me for a day or two! They get lost & waste money yet I'd have been right there w them making sure they're ok! This sounds as tho it's going to be way fun. Uprated. Whee!

@007bondjb I booked at Springhill Suites. I got a llittle break since I have stayed there in Dallas for a while earlier this year on a work deal. They have good reviews. I have had a good experience at these Marriot type places even though they cost a little more. I'm just trying to think what I can bring that would be unique. I guess I'd better not dig up Buddy Holley's skull and make you a lawn ornament. HAHA!

@007bondjb Not sure yet. I called three different ones and none of them had a courtesy van. I ain't gonna get all full of pops and drive. That's for sure. I'm just weighing options at this point. I'll do some more price checking later this evening and let you know.

Some of the chains *are* getting really sneaky about charges, and you need to PAY ATTENTION, BOY. I've had some very good experiences with La Quinta, as recently as the SouthTube gathering in Nashville a month ago; all up front, no surprises, and they make me feel like they want my business. They let you cancel up to the day before the reservation, no questions asked. You mentioned a new one nearby, and I'll be checking it out.
