In this video, I demonstrate how to optimize your router for XBL using a Linksys router.
If your router differs from the one I used in this video, refer to your user manual or Google on how to access the web based configuration and the DMZ option.

  • Hey man thanks for this. I recently had to change my IP for cost reasons and a ridicules cap. Been having problems with XBL dropping on my new IP even on my new Lynksys E2500, I hope this will reduce the problem. Many Thanks for all your work.

  • @clarkydm You're welcome. Thanks for taking the time to write something positive.

  • Good job dude, way to make it easy for everyone. One note I'd like to say, instead of having people add to the DHCP reserve, why not just tell everyone to just use the MAC address (which you did in the video anyway), but since the MAC address doesn't change, they don't have to worry about the IP address.

  • @dfa1 Because I don't like MAC address authentication. It's not good for overall network speed, stability and reliability.

  • Thanks Dizzy, immediate improvement to my Black Ops gaming.

  • @DaRealMaverick Dude... You're welcome. Thanks for the nice comment.
