This woman has noo idea what she's talking about. You don't check the date code from a little cardboard box but a leather label on the inside of the bag... o_O

Hi I do believe the 3 digit code located on the box is to identify what key is for what lock. Date codes for the bags are located inside the purse mostly in a corner or on a tag in the case of backpacks.
