Zooey obviously couldn't hear herself but that not the issue - if you listen at 1:18 the bass actually plays the wrong note a few times, and anything will sound bad over a wrong bass note because it's the instrumental that (musically) holds it all together

Zooey's vocal monitor was too low, as you can see @ 0:36 in video. She was trying to tell the sound engineer to turn up her monitor. Because of this, she couldn't hear herself. In a lot of other concerts, she's a great singer. Cut her some slack.
