Punk is the most repetitive fucking genre in the world. Every punk band uses the same riffs that every other damn punk band uses.
I love punk, but seriously, crying about Green Day using the same riff as D4 is ridiculous. You may as well cry about every band using every riff that every other band uses. People take music too seriously, if you don't like Green Day don't listen to them.

i think you just skimmed through my response. green day tries to put forth an image to show what they're about. d4 doesn't try to make an image for themselves. they just play music and thats it. they put on some of the most amazing live shows ive ever been to. green day has an image they put forth and that's all that you get from them. its an image, there song is part of that image since it mimicks what their image is. it's like green day tries to be punk.

For everyone who is bitching about punk bands using similar chord progressions, they're not riffs people, I have one thing to say; G, D, and C. Y'know what that is? That is the transcription of almost every pop song written in the last 50 years.

These guys aren't Dillinger 4 - who the hell are they? It seems wrong that this video has more views than actual Dillinger 4 footage!

FUCK ALL OF YOU. PUNK TILL DEATH
-
Wow, look at all the people who don't know the difference between riffs and chords.
-
@daveymagnum Dillinger four totally tries to make an image of themselves. They portray themselves as a bunch of overweight alcohols who loves punk rock. They play music the same as greenday does, use the same types of riffs they do, they just took a different path. What fuckin' ever. Big deal

When are you referring to Green Day as "selling out". Last time I checked, Green Day's sound got faster and more "punk rock" when they signed to WB and wrote Dookie and Insomniac. 39/Smooth and Kerplunk were extremely poppy albums. Almost every song on those albums were love songs with some of the most pop hooks/melodies ever. I understand if you don't like GD since '05, but think about what you're saying before you type.
-
@ItsJohnnyAppleseed Are you calling Green Day a punk band?
-
@sandrakayevans no, Green Day sold out by changing their sound and attitude, besides looking like every other emofuck band out there. Cant tell GD from MCR
-
@ItsJohnnyAppleseed NOFX are really different !
NOFX rules !!! !! ! ! !

Genres don't meant anything anymore anyway. If you like it, listen to it. If you don't, don't listen to it
