can i do the dowel rod trick on a guitar with a floyd rose 1000 tremolo bridge? or would do i have to find something else to keep the bridge flush?

I've been trying to find a video to help me set up my floyd rose system. Its not a free floating, but the other kind that sit on the wood and all you can do is divebombs, the one Eddie Van Halen uses. Im trying to equal out the balance of string tension and the springs in the back. I get it in tune and when I use the bar, it goes out of tune. Do you have any suggestions.. Thanks

I have a Jackson guitar with 24 frets and 3 springs on the floyd rose tremolo system, and I use the following strings: .009, .011, .016, .024, .032, .042, am I using the right strings? what do you suggest?
