This is the second half of a rant that began with Soulja Boy and his "2 Milli" song, and has somehow got into much deeper territory by bringing up the "We Are The World" remake for Haiti. I am disgusted by this remake and I could not keep my silence any further, SOMEBODY HAD TO SPEAK UP! First of all, DO NOT GET IT TWISTED, I feel incredibly sorry for the people of Haiti and everything that happened there. The situation is a very big deal and is not a joking matter, but the song itself, it is such a joke that I could not keep my silence about it no matter how hard I tried to avoid the subject. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ARTISTS, what happened to artistic integrity? Michael Jackson is turning in his grave over this song. He would never remake a song that was made for a specific situation that happened previously! It takes away from the seriousness of what was happening in Africa in the 80's and makes everyone forget the original purpose of the song. At the same time, it takes away from what just happened in Haiti. In my opinion, to remake a song that was beautiful, and extremely powerful, and featured REAL singers and artists NOT a bunch of jokes like Lil Wayne and Hannah Montana, it was in INCREDIBLY POOR TASTE and extremely tacky. The people in Haiti deserved MUCH better than this, new lyrics, and better participants... The people in Africa don't deserve to have their song stripped from them either. And MICHAEL JACKSON, R.I.P., deserves his respect as well. He loved the planet and its people, and he would have never done this, he was an artist and would have made a new song with much more of an impact... It is up to us as artists to stop this nonsense! Is it that hard to come up with a new song? When you are as rich as most of these people, can you not pay a ghost writer at least if you don't want to spend the time? Lionel Richie, do you not see how disgusting this was? Do you not have an ounce of artistry left in you? Quincy Jones? Anyone? Come on people... It is time we open up our eyes and see what we are doing to music; and society in general... Before it's too late and there is no originality left... Check out my channel if you want to see what "credentials" I have to be criticizing music since most likely you will be "hating" on me for stating my opinion, which is completely valid...

  • Dude, you're totally right. The autotune was just...wow. And they discraced the original.

  • @RubixTutorial01 Disgraced is an understatement my friend...

  • i got a quote for this:

"Save the music y'all," by Nas from the song I can.

    You are the shit Ropa!

  • @kevster2717 Thanks a lot! Sorry for the late reply... I wish that more people showed the support, but if some people saw what I was trying to say it makes it worth it!

  • @Ropadodo I am too retarded to see? WHAT ARE YOU if you CAN'T SEE HOW DUMB OF A COMMENT YOU JUST LEFT? Sit back there, look at it, read it over a couple of times and come back to me... How does a song stolen from the 80's created for a different tragedy that is stripped of it's intended purpose and placed onto another have meaning? Not to mention the fact that Michael Jackson was dead and they just use him in it to make themselves feel okay about the atrocious act they were guilty of...

  • Rap used to have meaning and talent, where people made music for the sake of the music, with passion and heart, not just for fame and credibility. I wholeheartedly agree with you, and just like nas said "Save the music yall"...

  • My biggest question whyn the Fuck was gladys Night in the fucking choir and Jennifer husdon singing back up for that beiber bitch ....miley fucking cyrus....ughhh and jamie foxx is backing this shit

  • @unconditionalme1 What Lil Wayne has been through has nothing to do with anything. His skill? He has none, the people who think he does are the ignorant ones. The point of this video is they could and should have made a new and better song. If you disagree with that then you're just an idiot, I mean these "artists" are suppose to be talented right? I would have wrote a new song, obviously the poster of this video would have wrote a new song, any self respecting artist would, so why couldnt they?

  • @unconditionalme1 Being around when the original was made has nothing to do with knowing that Michael Jackson would have made a new song and not remade a song that was already meant for a separate tragedy. Yeah, they got together for a great cause, but thats not the issue here, maybe you should listen to the video again pal.

  • You know, I dont know who you are and that is fine. You have the right to share your opinions. But do you even know who lil wayne is? I am from New Orleans and unless you know what that man has been through and know what skills he has first hand then please save all the ignorance. People try to do something positive and there is always one who has something to say. If you can do better, then let me see you get a bunch of celebrities together, donate millions, and make a video showing unity.

  • You know my daughter had a assignment that she was proud of. We watched the We are the world 25 and unless you were around when they made the original we are the world, then please dont talk about what would Micheal Jackson would have or would have not done. These artists, actors, rappers, and producers got together for a great cause. We donated to haiti. what about all of you who is hating on the video. Put up or shut up. These people did something about the situation, not whine about it.

  • LMFAO!!!! "Autotune the World"! Dude that line was fuckin EPIC! Yea, that song was nothing but a fucking "celebrity" publicity stunt. And you're right, Lil Gayne and Soulja Joke are a fucking disgrace to not only Hip Hop, but the black community. Thanks for the vid...I might sub you.

  • I like this guy!!! go ahead and speak ya mind. Anyone that is hating on you is a fake ass bitch...People gotta stop thinking that remix was awesome they don't know nothing bout music.

  • I fully agree. All we get in media is song after song stolen from old artists.

  • shut up & stop listening to music

to those intending to reply suck ma dick :)
