Doesn't the fact that it's universal make it international?

I loved this movie when I first saw it at age 9. It was cutting edge sci-fi (sort of). Anyway thanks so much for posting it. This movie has stuck in my childhood memories and I'm so glad to have seen it again even tho I think Forbidden Planet was a bit better. It was hard to find because I couldn't remember the title.

@richarddloy - I share your feelings. During the 50's the 'Cold War' was in full swing, and many SciFi movies main theme involved a large insect or mutated human as a result of being exposed to radioactivity. TIE stood out because it's story was mostly believable, and it's outstanding special effects. There were other great SciFi movies during this time, but, like you, TIE has a special place in my memory.

I liked MGM's Forbidden Planet a lot better. The Metaluna Mutant was cool though -- a great Sci-Fi bug-eyed monster from the 1950s.

@mickeymousebiker1 - I agree Forbidden Planet is one of the great Sci-Fi movies from the 50's. Used part of the sound track for my YouTube video Total Lunar Eclipse 1968.
