I talk about health care reform, as well as some assumptions about the Canadian health care system.

  • At least here in Canada, we all agree on our own health care system, it's been shown in a sensus that most Canadians are fine with their system and don't want it changed. (you as a Canadian just confirmed that here :)

Anywayz, great talk as always lady

hope to hear from ya soon and good luck with your politics major school work, stay busy and work HARD :)

    cheers :)

  • @SpiceBoy7UK23 I know I'm late commenting...but now I actually have time to respond after one tough exam period! It's interesting to note the contrast between Canada and the US...and I'm sure what you said is quite true...Americans hate taxes, and unfortunately, for universal health care more than likely there would be a slight increase. I just never understood why it's an issue to make a small sacrifice so that everyone gets coverage.

  • We also have public healthcare here in Spain and... well, watching them talk like if healthcare meant the Apocalypse is also kind of strange to me. Anyway, they're Americans and their mentality is very different from the rest of the first world countries, I guess...

PS: There's an annoying buzz in your video, can you remove it next time?

  • It is pretty strange, you'd think health care that covers everyone is a horrible thing.

Sorry about the buzz in the background...I actually didn't notice it until I just started re-watching the vid just now. Probably cell phone interference. oops. I'll make sure that sound is not there next time.

  • What are you? You kind of look ethiopian/Somali

  • I'm American but I feel like I was born in the wrong country. How could anyone disagree that everyone would have access to quality health care regardless of ability to pay. You're lucky to be Canadian! I visited Toronto recently and loved it. Even in your country's largest city, people are polite and friendly (especially compared to a US city of equal size)

  • In the US, no government will ever try talking about that because taxes will increase and that 's the best way to lose voters. Everyone hates taxes over there and I am 100% sure that there will never be a public health care in the US because votes are so important and in a way, it's sad and funny because it's always going to be an issue in every campaign and no one will ever be happy.

  • hey Candy, nice to see ya again ! it's been long and we missed ya.

About public health care, you kind of mentioned it but briefly. The reason why our cowboy neighbours don't want public health care, it's because of the taxes. Here in Canada we pay a lot more taxes and the main reason is for that public health care.

It's not the same as Canadian health care system.

They already have a good healthcare system in Massachussets but the national one that just got passed is doing it all wrong.

The rules of the new bill are: Everyone has to buy healthcare. It is ILLEGAL not to have buy it. If you don't then you get fined. Along with the healthcare they also now have to pay an extra tax on their income. Some people that were healthy and didnt need health insurance now have to pay a tax & get coverage

  • ok, lol
