Per request, which I don't normally fulfill. :p But Townes was born in Fort Worth, so I had to.

Comments would be appreciated.

  • They both lived in Texas for at least a while, too. Like another singer, here. I didn't know the song before, nice to learn it so pleasantly.

  • John didn't just live in Texas, he lived in Fort Worth. He graduated from my high school's rival (also the alma mater of actor Bill Paxton). One of my friend's uncles was good friends with him in high school.

  • nice

  • Nice to see your choices for covers- I hear lots of good comments posted all over you tube - you deserve them all

  • i play it in D, capo 2 c form chords.

it has d g a and bm. some walk downs you can here. and also an a7

  • what are the chords to this song

  • Nice job. Is the sustitution of the Cmaj in place of the Amin ("began to cry", "nobody heard") deliberate though?

  • Townes wrote a song about my mama, Kathleen. Makes you think what people go through when you pass them on the street.

  • Wow..I love this song and your version of it too.

  • i love this song. such a soothing voice.

  • Nice finger pickin! I love this song. It's funny because you're voice is kinda similar to willie's, don't know if that was on purpose or what not.

  • That's a really good version!
