You are all arguing while viewing this through the lens of the past twenty years. This performance was recorded less than a year after _Nevermind_ was released and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" became the juggernaut that it was. Kurt enjoyed this cover (much like he enjoyed Weird Al's parody). Debating otherwise just proves how uninformed you really are.

Nirvana and Kurt were always about expression. Grunge has always been about expression. So if Tori Amos chose to pay a tribute to Kurt and covered his song but expressing it in her own way, it actually makes me feel good. Its an honor to the memory of Kurt.
