The art of jean-Sebastien Lajeunesse reflects a search and exploration on imaginary worlds. Within his strange universe, he sits on the ground surrounded by archives, tools, sculptures and recycled materials. Pencil in hand, the line dares, bursts, comes alive and multiplies, creating stretched forms, texturded and contrasted. Fantasy characters come out of nowhere, twisted, fragiles and fluids, they all juggle with old memories. All these small symbolic creatures tell about their joys and sorrows. A theatrical study that plays with the character's emotions. New worlds surges on heterogeneous objects in various techniques and different mediums. The idea starts with a vision, will tranform, shimmer and expand like a dance reaching for the indefinable, always open to new interpretations.
