  • Also, if you've ever heard the Charley Thompson CD "The Neglected Professor" (on the Delmark label; available from Amazon), you can tell that this whole piece smacks of the Thompson style, no question about it.

  • You can hear a little bit of Jelly Roll Morton's "King Porter Stomp" in this... I don't know if this was intentional on Thompson's part or not, but most of those old-time ragtime guys regularly got little bits and pieces, phrases etc. from each other.
