  • @Jamie12823 Victoria doesn't let the dogs get to the stage of aggression. She uses the best scientific methods in the country. Ceasar on the other lets them get to that point

  • @TheHazelh0814 no it just means that Cesar is viewed through rose colored glasses. Many of the dogs on his show were later put to sleep because of the same issues and he has been sued by his clients. He makes everything out to be a battle between dog and man when it never had to be to begin with.

  • @SahidMable I'm not "certified" but guess what? If science says there is a better way, I use it! Alpha Rolls have been linked to very serious aggression issues and yet Cesar still uses them? Do you know what an Alpha Roll is? It is a death threat in dog language. Wolves ONLY do that when they are going to kill another wolf. Dogs almost never use them, instead you see voluntary belly rolls. I don't need to threaten my dog's life to train him, Cesar.

  • @SahidMable No he is not. I'm a dog behaviorist and yes, being calm is generally a good idea but the techniques matter much more. Cesar Millan relies on outdated stuff from the 50's. It makes my job harder because I have to undue so much damage. Learn about calming signalas and then watch his show. You'll have a different opinion.

  • @DisturbedFanForEver She doesn't have an ego problem! She's just frustrated for the same reasons I am. These techniques have made my job a hell of a lot harder because I have to spend time undoing so much damage. You can be a great leader without using bullying.

  • @DisturbedFanForEver The problem here is that most aggression is rooted in fear. My aggressive dog, Lionel was quick to snap & bite because he was terrified & had been previously trained with Cesar's outdated techniques. I had to rehab him myself, and he is much better for it! Truly "vicious" dogs are an utter rarity in dog training. There is always a reason-normally it's fear or medical. I've only met one dog who was vicious with no determinable cause in my time as a dog behaviorist & trainer.

  • @Zehrrien Not at all true. If you are rehabilitating a dog, such as my reactive dog, using force of any kind can make the behaviors much worse. The techniques cesar uses cause a temporary stoppage in the behavior because the dog is afraid, not a permanent change in the mental state of the dog. I use counter conditioning instead.

  • @Hayri2011 My thing is that a training program shouldn't leave room for this kind of damage. You can be a great leader without being a bully. A consequence does not have to be so threatening.

  • @Hayri2011, it was his PUPPY TRAINING program! They trusted his techniques, so they sent the puppy to live at the camp most of time for a few months. And, I've watched plenty of his show to see that he does use unnecessary force. He believes in a training style that is based on outdated theories on wolf behavior. We have a much better understanding of both wolves & dogs now, so there is no need to use these techniques. Especially considering that almost every training association condemns them.

  • @TVSheShe Is that Cesar's problem, or the owners? Trainers can teach their clients anything, but they can't control what their clients do when they're not around. I've seen many people "copy" his television show but they are using too much force or correcting at inappropriate times with inappropriate measures. That is not what Cesar does. For all you know that's what happened with this dog. And if the puppy was so happy and vibrant why was Cesar called in in the first place?

  • @MelodyPythonVeria Actuall obedience training with leash and collar corrections...what a dog actually understands. If a dog understands and does these commands consistently you can use it to your advantage of having the dog sit or down/stay and it has to think about instead of what ever bad behavior it was doing. If it breaks that command it gets a collar correction.NO it isn't abusive if you are taught buy a trainer that knows how to make the proper corrections.
