  • soooo you wen back a turn to make your strategy work .... this wont work in a real game you know (1.33 and 1.41)

  • game 1 white move C1>F4 it will open a way for your other rook to defend or attack.

game 2 you can try to get your king closer for an attck with your rook or you can move the rook for aa check till the king is far enough to take the ponds then go for mate but ill sugest move the king closer as the game goes.

  • On the 1st game the pawn on the a file should drive for the top of the board. The pawn on the c file is effectivly blocked. On the second game the King needs to get out and meet those pawns. With no other long range pieces it becomes a necessary tool. This from CowboyNoel. ]:d>

  • I like BxN -- then if RxB, BxP -- white is still hanging tough...

  • no no no that leaves the bishop hanging, i guess just Rxa5 is the best c1=q+, bxc1, rxc1, kh2, bd6+, re5, white a tough endgame.

  • there is obviously a flaw in my analysis, i think Bxf4 is a good first move, but of course after Bxc2 black can just take Nxb7, which i didn't see at first, i check my analysis with fritz, but to continue after Bxf4 2. Nxa5 Rd7...maybe I don't know im not a grandmaster yet, good problem though

  • oops sorry i mean Bxf4 of course

  • Seems to me Bxc4 is the best move, black has some possibilities after this, but i think white can defend.

    1. Bxc4 Nxa5 2. Rxa5? c1=Q 3. Bxc1 Rxc1+ with good play for black. So instead of Rxa5, white should black 2.Bxc2 Rxc2 3. Rxa5 and the black a pawn can't be saved.
