  • Thank you, Felipe. I love choro (actually most Brazilian music I've heard has touched me). I'd love to learn more about it.

  • It's a "cavaco or cavaquinho" .. typical of brazilian samba and choro music. It's tuned diffrerently from a mandolin and only has 4 strings. Since there are no "double" strings and plying style is different, the cavaco sounds less "chorused" and more percussive than mandolins do.

  • The guy standing between Sivucas and the bassist; what instrument is he playing? Is it a type of mandolin? Is it a Bandolim?
