(Leonard Cohen) Tower of Song (instrumental) - Bert Bouwhuis

My attempt to do an instrumental version of Leonard Cohen's "Tower of Song" in Leo Kottke's acoustic 12-string slide guitar style. Since I tuned to open G major (two half steps down) and since there is hardly no Cohen song without minor chords, I had to apply Sonny Landreth's "behind the slide fretting" trick to play the one minor chord (see e.g. at 1:43).

I'd been considering the 'fretting behind the slide' trick for Kottke's Watermelon... I'd no idea though I suspected I couldn't be the first to think of such a thing. I just stumbled on your vids this evening, and now I supose I'll have to try it out. Great Stuff!

It's something unitil recently I wasn't even aware of I must confess! Saw it in a YouTube interview with Sonny Landreth. It's typically used on electric guitars I guess though. Never saw anybody using it on an acoustic.
