Oh Noes! My Wii is broken!

After only 6 months my Wii is displaying graphical corruption in the form of vertical bands of sparkling pixels. Is it overheating? A bad GPU? All I know is that it ain't my TV and it ain't the cables, so Nintendo needs to fix it!

from AT, read your thread...damn, that sucks. they wont service it either? can you return it? and did you take the wii to a friends house to see if the problem still was there?

It took a 2nd call to Nintendo, but I got the return order # and I'm sending it back for repair/replacement. I was quite surprised to see here on Youtube that a lot of other folks are having the same issue--I guess its not the TV.

I had this for a while but it eventually went away on its own after doing some stress testing on the system... And by that, I mean blocking the fan with a sock and playing Mario Kart on wifi o:

i had my wii in 2008 and its still working fine. maybe because i dont use it very often, but i still play it once in a while.

@Dark0Lord7 mines in my basement so its always cool in the summer and warm in the winter

It's the GPU. The GPU was damaged by overheating. U should keep the Wii on vertical position, and u shouldn't let the sun shine on it or play on a hot room.(use a fan or an air conditioner if the room is hot)
