After only 6 months my Wii is displaying graphical corruption in the form of vertical bands of sparkling pixels. Is it overheating? A bad GPU? All I know is that it ain't my TV and it ain't the cables, so Nintendo needs to fix it!

  • from AT, read your thread...damn, that sucks. they wont service it either? can you return it? and did you take the wii to a friends house to see if the problem still was there?

  • It took a 2nd call to Nintendo, but I got the return order # and I'm sending it back for repair/replacement. I was quite surprised to see here on Youtube that a lot of other folks are having the same issue--I guess its not the TV.

  • @MrMantis3004 Er no, i meant 5 years

  • @bbuubb2 how it can be 7 ear old if the wii is released in 2006,lol ur fail

  • Lol my wii is broken right now. Is 7 years old!

  • I had this for a while but it eventually went away on its own after doing some stress testing on the system... And by that, I mean blocking the fan with a sock and playing Mario Kart on wifi o:

  • i had my wii in 2008 and its still working fine. maybe because i dont use it very often, but i still play it once in a while.

  • Haha another failed graphics processing unit (GPU)

  • @UNCjigga you got the wii fix right?

  • haha your wii sucks!!

  • @Dark0Lord7 mines in my basement so its always cool in the summer and warm in the winter

  • It's the GPU. The GPU was damaged by overheating. U should keep the Wii on vertical position, and u shouldn't let the sun shine on it or play on a hot room.(use a fan or an air conditioner if the room is hot)
