Available now on Hulu.
The 8-episode documentary/reality series from TOKYOPOP travels across America - to 20 cities across 12,000 miles - searching for OTAKU CULTURE and America's Greatest Otaku.

For 7 weeks in summer 2010, Stu Levy, along with road warrior cameraman Dice Kinouchi, and the "Otaku 6" (college students) Dre, Diana, Dominique, Meera, Stephan & Sully, visited all kinds of cool "otaku spots" in each city, and of course interview Greatest Otaku candidates. This was all filmed and documented and will now be presented on Hulu, beginning December 2010.

This is a serious but fun look at America's otaku culture - made by otakus for otakus.

  • Todd Haberkorn? a Otaku!?!?!?!?! Awesome! I am a Otaku too..My friends (who don't watch anime at all! except one that I converted (she is obsessed with yaoi now XD) Think I am weird. I now want to glomp Todd..

  • LoL I thought it was something Hetalia related X'D

  • Man, I hate all these damn trolls, they r annoying as hell lol

  • I am americas number 1 otaku lol

  • LMAO is that Todd Haberkorn? @ 00:35

  • Personally, I'm glad they decided to make this. A lot of the anime/manga spots were pretty darn awesome. Just wish Tokyopop would re-open start publishing in the US again :/ So many projects they didn't get to finish..

  • i see a lot of negative comments about this show, did any of you watch it? I think it has a lot of negative feedback because they used the word otaku. And yes otaku is used in a negative connotation in japan. But i think a lot of people should take into account that when words are passed over to other cultures the context can change. And this series showed a lot of awesome anime/manga hot spots, talk about breaking stereotypes and it was just a good series i think.

  • @TheYosh96

Why are you here then? go bother others....

  • @Oo666 lol weaboo and otaku and any non japanese that watch japanese anime should go and die

fucking gay ass shit fuck you all

  • @TheYosh96 if you dont watch anime why are you watching this video? obviously you're not happy with youre life if your wasting time watching videos that you dont even like. Watching anime and being an otaku is the same thing to you, just shows how narrow-minded and ignorant you are. Why in the world are you including homos into this conversation? You're complete utter troll, go die in a hole. No one wants you here.
