Some say that rings in ice cores is a compelling evidence for that the earth is
much older than about 6000 years. But can we really know, without doubt
that one ring represents one year? Hovind has some thoughts on this.

  • he said himself ignorence can be fixed.. stupid is forever! what a dick.

  • This guy can't even add up his Taxes, why would anybody trust his figures?

  • Oldest un-contestable date for a tree is 4862 years prior to 1964 (2898 BC).

The Sunland Baobab has been estimated to be 6000 years old.

But the real record currently goes to the root system of the Pando colony of Quaking Aspen which is still alive at 80,000.

This record may be broken soon because another much bigger area of Quaking Aspen is being studied to see if it is a true colony. If it is it is probably 1 million years old!

  • @Jupiterx5 - You are making a baseless argument, he clearly states the location and the process of determining the rate of wich this happens. To simply label someone "stupid" without any explanation is clearly a sign of someone who is, well, stupid. The reason being you could not figure out where this man went wrong, but you felt strongly compelled to critize him.

  • This guy is so stupid.

  • You also have to put into account where you get the ice, and how much the ice gets compacted.
