Actaully 5th of May was the battle of puebla. Which is why there is no celebrations in mexico. Only in puebla. But that battle only stoped the french for a few days.

I know, 5 de Mayo IS NOT the mexican independence, ONLY U.S citizens said that, because U.S army helped to Benito Juarez and U.S citizens WISH that war as "mexican independece".

Silly monkeys sorry... Benito Juarez fought against Maximillian and french army, but the indigenous Benito Juarez was helped by U.S army. Also liberals mexicans vs conservative mexicans.

Monkeys? Is that a new way of saying "silly goose"? Anyways Benito Juarez fought against Spain, not France. Mexico's war with France had nothing to do with independence, just like the War of 1812 to the US.
