PS3 Problems: Broken Out of the Box

I really wanted to love the PS3...too bad mine was broken. I'll probably try again, but these things are way too expensive to have these problems!

I've been enjoying some of the comments and I thought I'd answer a few common questions:

Why didn't you replace the cables?
Well, like I said in the video, I tried different cables by different brands.

Why didn't you change the settings?
Again, like I said this in the video, I did. Then I went through them all again with the Sony Customer Service rep.

Why didn't you just bring it back for a replacement?
Target was out of them when I brought mine back.

Didn't you get a warranty?
Sony was willing to repair it for me. But when you send a brand new system in for repairs, you basically just paid full price for a refurbished unit. And Target did take it back.

My favorite comment so far:
"you gave it back to target, yet you have it plugged into your TV with your broke-ass cables... wow."
I hope this was a joke, and I don't think most people were confused by this. Just in case...I filmed this before returning the unit. Then I edited it and added music and narration after returning it. There is a reason that I don't usually read YouTube comments.

Anyway, the PS3 slims look great and God of War III comes out soon, so I'll be trying again with a PS3 in the near future. I'm looking forward to it.

it was your HDMI cable, had the same problem. Try to fiddle with your cable, there is a sequence in how to insert the HDMI cable.

wow i have the ps1 ps2 and the ps3.. and none of them broke.. i wanted to try out the xbox so i bought the xbox 360 elite. and it broke within a month. . :(
