The mismatch problem with the Ford pair was even worse when the Focus struck the back of the Escape. The front bumper on the car underrode the high-riding Escape's rear bumper, which at 25 inches off the ground is the tallest among all the small SUVs evaluated this time around. Damage to the Focus came to $5,203 and included replacing most of the sheet metal plus many parts in front of the engine.
Ford Focus into Ford Escape
Focus-$5,203
Escape-$2,208
Total-$7,411
This happened with my 2000 Taurus I just traded in, but I hit going a little fast. I had damage to the hood, the a/c and radiator. It cost over $4000 to fix. The Expedition I rear ended only had a scratch.

these numbers are so bad. one of my cars got hit in the front and looked much worse and was hit at like 15 mph and it still wasn't 5000 dollars.

@carlover2013
Just look up the Ford Kuga, that's essentially what the U.S. is getting.

Both were POShits, at least ford is redesign the new focus is a huge improvement, and the 2013 escape looks that way too.
