Yeah I feel ya on that, I play with original settings for Dante, I wanted to change em to make JC easier but I figured i was too far down along the line, and you described it exactly as I tried to, JCing to make a combo finish quicker. Glad we sorted that out >.< I still play the game daily too, 3 hours a day usually, just wish more people played.

  • @mercyfulxhate Fair enough but personally I have never felt the need in DMC4. Since I bought the game in what? 2008 it has remained the game I play more than anything else and im still learning new tricks and weapon transitions with Dante. Maybe I would have tried to get used to it as a means of just speeding up a combo by cutting moves short but the way my pad is laid out it would be anything but a fluid motion. And im too set in my ways to change it now it's been too long.

Agreed, those JCers are just the noobs who get excited over the thought of being able to JC, then spam with videos, what i mean though by my style of JCing is kinda the same in a sense of i spam a move over and over, but I'm switching weapons, styles, buttons, and guns while doing it. For example, once I get mobs into the air I start off JCing aerial rave, then yamato, then lucifer, then pandora then lucifer, then yamato, then rebellion or gilgamesh, but I think you see my point.

  • @mercyfulxhate I had a feeling this was a bit of a misunderstanding. I can appreciate the use of it in moderation (like in the video this started on for example) I just think of it and instantly picture people doing that over and over. Thats the only thing I wanted taken out, the ability to do that as a way of getting round fighting enemies properly.

I remember going through a phase of spamming the aerial move on the chess pieces with Vergil's Beowolf and it just felt so cheap and boring.

Thats not a combo and those aren't combo videos, those are noob poser vids trying to be REAL DMC players. I think if you knew the kind of JC I'm into you'd be much more appreciative of it my friend :P Go to youku.com, search 'devil may cry 4 combo' and watch 'dante the style combo video'

  • @mercyfulxhate And yet I never see it in the move list.

I am guessing that being REALLY good at it becomes a little easier when you learn to trap an enemy in an inescapable loop of aerial yamato slashes. Thats the only kind of JC I am bitching about, the cheap kind I see in combo videos so much when they learn something like that and then just do that to everything. It's just boring to watch. Dante already has more than enough combo potential with so much at his disposal in 4.

Um... you do know most of Devil May Crys style comes from JC, it's funny that you think it's borderline cheating, meanwhile Capcom didn't remove it, JC adds a whole new dynamic to the game making DMC one of the hardest games ever to be REALLY good at. Think of every combo possibility with JC, though that might be hard for you seeing as you wouldn't know how to.

  • @mercyfulxhate

Buster = something that was meant to be used.

JC = something that was created for a totally different purpose used to bend the rules of the games physics.

Also the title is called "Buster tips" not "IR variable" stop desperately trying to pick holes and find reasons why I am a moron who doesn't know anything. My issue with it is that its boarderline cheating but people flaunt it like a pro technique. It's not it deserves to be looked at for what it is, an exploitable loophole.
