Christiaan & Piet Houtenbos

Christiaan Houtenbos, the famous hair-dresser best known for his buzzed bob, was born in Holland before moving to Manhattan. A life-long friend of Stephen Sprouse, he has worked with Grace Jones and Calvin Klein among the countless others in the New York fashion scene.

Piet Houtenbos, Christiaan's son and Stephen Sprouse's godson, is rapidly rising designer. He has already received much attention for his infamous gold and nickel plated grenade oil lamps, made from actual US Army grenades. His furniture designs have made it into the homes of Museum of Modern Art design curators.

Ah yes, I remember hangin' with Steve a bit, he was a cool guy. I also recall one New Years Eve in the city, he needed some volunteers to come to a concert (psychotica I think) and stand in the front row throwing rolls of toilet paper at the band (in a positive and supportive way of course) Unfortunately we had prior engagements, otherwise we DEFINITELY would have been there doing so.
