April 20th, 2005: busy day in Brunswick, Maine.
First we see Maine Eastern 1501 running light over Union Street. Then MERR meeting Guilford in the old Brunswick yard to pick up the cars brought in from Rigby. Note the railfan conductor on the Maine Eastern train taking pictures of ST 215 and MEC 376, the Guilford power. Next up is Guilford heading light to Rock Jct to pick up cars from Maine Eastern. Next the train is filmed crossing Park Row and Maine Street. After spending a good chuck of time back in the yard, the train finally heads west over Church Road.
I filmed this back in 2005, not realizing that much of what I shot would be impossible to see five years later. LLPX GP15-1 1501 is gone (to P&W I believe), and Pan Am's 215 is out of service along with almost/all of their GP35s. Also gone now are the Maine Yankee shipments of radio active materials, which is what all the gondola cars are. Trains in Brunswick were much longer then, because of the Maine Yankee business. I found this video on an old hard drive of mine today and figured it was certainly youtube worthy.
Awesome. Times have sure changed in Brunswick... No more GP15's, no more GP35's, etc. Great catches!

Looked like the turbo seal is going out on 376. I think that might have been Gordon taking pics on 1501 as it went by...
