these 33 inch tires have been around for a long while now, and they end up on almost everything 4wd that we romp at some point. but unlike a Stock 79-83 toyota pickup, they rubb on pretty much every vehicle. so for the CJ5 i decided to take some sheetmetal out to make room for the suckers. then it ended up that it was the bolts on the bottom of the roll bar hitting the back tires. because that was all bent and broken back there, so the roll bar bounced up and down and stuff.

Good jeep??? Seriously? What the hell is wrong with you people? This thing had sat, rusting away for 20 years or so, after a tree feel on it, bent the body/grill and frame, demolished the windshield (i bent stuff back as best i could) and i got it for 75 bucks, because the guy was going to scrap it the following week.

I didn't have the money, or ambition to buy a lift kit, nor did i want the thing to have a higher center of gravity. Bottom line, It was mine.

  • @killgore375 I have a CJ5 its not been cut at all. I would have cut this one too. Look at it the body is fed up plus like he said keep the CG low. These are very narow so anything there helps.

Hey thanks man. Yeah, the really wide tires helped alot too. made it feel a little less tip-overable. Very awesome machine though! Does yours have the amc 304 V8? Or is it the amc inline 6? haha, or an older CJ-5 with a stock Buick V6, or a willys 4cyl?

  • As I was watching this video it looked like a Jeep horror movie. I can honestly say I feel bad for that Jeep. lol

  • @pacharis88

That jeep was an awesome machine, we brought it back to life, and i can honestly say it had alot of fun with us.

So, you would have rather i hadn't bought it for 150 bucks, and it had just gone to the scrap yard to get crushed like it was going to?

I mean, its up to you, either i work hard to get a jeep running that hadn't ran since 94 or so, and that had been crushed by a HUGE tree at some point before it sat for years. So either i get it going, and it has a year or so of glorious awesome fun romping through the woods action that it was made for,

    OR,

It could have gone to the scrap yard...

  • @tommartyn I have the 258 in mine. Planning on doing a chevy 350/383 for it some time but have other stuff to worrie about rite now. Hay as long as your out having fun with your jeep and not just letting it sit. You can allways get new fender is you decide to restor it someday but it looks more like you are building a fun toy then a show peice. Mine is a Toy and a commuter!

  • @tommartyn lift it not cut it

  • @joshramey hahahahahahaha What Jeep wasn't a Renegade? Its a $50 package of stickers on the internet and some different seat and top colors. No significant variation from a CJ7 that would make it any more valuable then any other poorly built AMC rust bucket. This one was trash, it still ran, he had some fun with it. Lift kits are shit.
