So many people do not realize that district 9 is meant to be a modified movie versio of what happened in district 6 back when racism was full on. The "prauns" (aliens) were meant to represent the black Africans in district 6. That is the reason that the military were treatig them like garbage. As for the oil to the face/ arm turning into alien,I have no idea.

@cld3333 so pretty much all the things that happened in District 9, all the special effects, the story line, the stunts, the action, the billions of dollars spent making a movie about aliens who land on earth was really just an expensive way for them to say "District 6 was bad"? .... thats a little dramatic dont you think

have thought, "Okay. I didn't understand it completely but I get the gist of it." But the fuel aspect just baffled me. If an alien got sprayed with gasoline, I wonder if it would turn human? Maybe that's what fuel to does to creatures from different planets. Who knows? Still, I enjoyed the movie. Any movie that has African music has won me over halfway since I love that kind of music.

Hey woosh, I believe that the oil to the face in district 9 was that it got into his bloodstream via his face( eyes, nostrils, etc.) and since his arm was broken or fractured the blood cells went there to repair it and the alien stuff transformed his arm... I think.

@Jawooosh I suppose. But than again if they just had a trailer and it was just a bunch of cops arresting the black population,they would not have gotten nearly the same amount of viewers in the theaters

Honestly I thought that Inglourious Basterds was one of the best movies of 2009. I think the problem with it was that the producers advertised it wrong. They advertised as this movie that was about a bunch of Jews revolting over Nazis and kicking ass. But the movie was actually about that Jewish Girl (Shosanna) escaping from the nazi's in the begining. But all in the end, it was all about the Basterds and how they helped bringing down Hitler and the entire Nazi movement.
