A Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) sings some "Tseet" notes while a large group of noisy primates walks past. The tseet is often used during agnostic encounters with other birds. When a large crow lands nearby and "caws," the chickadee then flits away to a more distant branch. Over time, as humans gather around and the crow persists in its bullying, one of the birds flock-mates calls out a "chick-a-dee". The chick-a-dee complex of calls is used for a multitude of purposes. In this case, the chickadee was likely alerting other members of the flock about the potential threat presented by the people and the crow. The bird in the video soon takes heed and flits away, calling its own altert.
