'Frances', starring the wonderful Jessica Lange, was the supposedly true story of the actress, Frances Farmer.
John Barry wrote one of his saddest, but beautiful scores for this film.
The film was directed by Graeme Clifford, who Barry later worked with on the movie, 'Ruby Cairo'.
Clifford wrote in the albums liner notes, 'I have admired John Barry's music for many years and had always promised myself that when I made my first picture I would contact John first. And that is what I did.'
Clifford could not have chosen a better composer.

Thank you for posting this. After nearly 30 years, this music still moves me deeply--especially the last track.
