There has been plenty of video from Japan showing the overwhelming tragedy of the earthquake and tsunami. But, here's a short video that reveals that, even among the ruins, there are still moments of inspiration. A dog, while struggling to understand and survive among what is left of its home, remains loyal to its injured friend and protects it from possible harm. The notes on this YouTube video indicate that both dogs were taken to a shelter for care.

  • @UltraEpicLoser One, those dogs are in a state of shock. Two, those people not veterinarians and won't be able to handle the dogs correctly and will have to wait for professional aids. Think !

  • The dogs are ok now.

  • Update 3/20/11: Loyal Dog & Friend’s Safety STILL UNCONFIRMED

  • Latest Update From Global Animal ,Reports:

Lets get this around the world

“There still is NO CONFIRMATION those dogs were rescued.Requests to Kenn Sakurai, who claims to have rescued the dogs to provide some definitive proof of rescue (video, pics), he refuses. A local investigative reporter in LV, NV has made requests and he will not respond. CNN reported rescue based on his FB updates, however, NO PROOF has been provided. This guy is either a Saint or a Fraud, not sure which.

  • So sweet, from reading on the BBC, and dailymail UK, both dogs were rescured, The brown and white one is doing well, the all white one is badly hurt, but they think he is going to make it!!!! Such a sweet story!!!!

  • Reminds me of the book "Where the Red Fern Grows"

  • This is a pair of hunting dogs.Rescued and being cared for at a local shelter.

  • Was the dogs rescued? Just keep on praying...

  • its sad how humanity can't just put our differences aside and e like these dogs

  • Hadnt shed a tear during this event....until I saw this story on CNN this morning. Too bad more people arent as courageous and loyal as out 4 legged friends. As someone mentioned the story of Hachi the Akita is another amazing (but sad) story
