Short film showing how to insert and remove a Mooncup menstrual cup.

The Mooncup® (http://www.mooncup.co.uk) is the original silicone menstrual cup designed by women to be a convenient, safe and eco-friendly alternative to tampons and sanitary pads.

Made in the UK by a multi-award winning ethical business and loved by women all around the world, the Mooncup offers an end to the waste, discomfort and expense of disposable sanitary protection.

Safer
Made from medical grade silicone, the Mooncup is latex-free and contains no dyes, toxins or bleaches. It's also great for women with sensitive skin.
Greener
On average, one woman will use over 11,000 tampons or pads in their lifetime, which will end up in landfill or in the sea.
Cheaper
One woman uses up to 22 items of sanitary protection every period. Regardless of your flow, you only need one Mooncup, and it lasts for years and years, making it the most economical sanitary product you can buy.

  • I just bought one of these but I have a problem getting it to go in! Any tips to make it easier? also just wondering how do you know how far to push it In and how much of the stem to trim off? Thanks very much if anyone replies to this (:

  • @aquamarinebbe Hello -is it a Mooncup you have? If so it should have come with a Usage Guide with tips and diagrams on insertion and trimming the stem. If you didn't get a usage guide with your Mooncup, and also for extra help, you can email advice@mooncup.co.uk

  • ok, they make this seem so easy, but its not. i hav size b cause im 15, and it inserted fine, but it took forever to get out and it was the most painful thing ever

  • @kylblk3 Hello sorry you've had trouble taking the Mooncup out :( We have an advice line advice@mooncup.co.uk if you want to have a chat with one of our nurse advisors about it?

  • Om nom nom.

  • @wilfygurl Kinda late reply I know, but it is recommend when on your period you don't do any handstands or yoga poses like that. I can cause it all to back flow.

  • I love mine its awesome. I just used it for the first time, I just wore a liner just in case. I took my out in the shower for the first usage so I wouldnt make a mess. It was a little work but it did not spill. After watching this video I should have any problems.

In public I would just take a bottle of water and rinse the cup and my hands over the bowl. Thats what I did when I had sea sponges.

  • How do you pull it out without spilling? I tried to and it went everywhere! It looked like someone had been murdered in my underwear!

  • @bubbliesjubblies Yeah, it's called "Taking the piss"

  • @mrlouist457 Umm..you can buy $2 at vending machines..

  • @Muhalka you could just dump it in the toilet then wipe it with toilet paper

  • Bah... how could I do this at the school bathroom?? Impossible!
