The St. Louis Scottish Rite Cathedral has a 4/54 Kimball Concert Pipe Organ. The building is located across the street from the Fox Theatre. The auditorium is large with a capacity of some 3,000 people with the console located in the left balcony. Chambers are on either end of the auditorium and an echo division in the rear ceiling area. Recorded in 1993
@ATLKapellmeister No, all the ranks are playable from this console. The theatre ranks, like the tibia, and the ranks with theatre tremulants, vox humana, and several strings, are located in the swell. the posaune also features a theatre tremulant. The rest of the organ features classical trems.

Is there not a Theatre console to play on?

Very VERY nice sound. It is a classic concert type instrument yet plays popular music well.

They made very fine pipe organs up until 1942, when they went into wartime manfacture for defense....and never built pipe organs post war:( After WWII they did indeed make electronic organs & pianos for many years.

I didn't know that Kimball made pipe organs? I always thought that they made electric organs. But it does sound pretty anyway. No matter if it's an electric organ or a pipe organ.

Excellent job, Jack! That organ has a great theatre sound, as did all of those auditorium Kimballs.
