Its a masterpiece from Vittorio de Sica. The confluence of poverty, bad luck and non-existent law and order in post-war Italy. This movie tries to highlight the vulnerability of an average law-abiding citizen in the wake of social injustice.
this movie was made in 1948 (in one of the first scenes you can watch also the effects of American bombings on Rome); the moral teachings are that a professional thief is always protected by his surrounding scum and ignored by the burocracy of laws. on the other side a common guy is left alone after a robbery...it' impressive that the kid of 7-8 worked at the gasoline station, now it would be absurd in modern Rome (my city i know well).
nicely done. I like it. Only I would've put "Take It Back" and make those cuts closer or all the words in one. Instead of splitting it up. Cause by the time I got to near the end, I forgot what I was reading lol all I read was "it" and got lost in the clips. But other than that, good stuff, you make it seem like it's packed with action lol. This is my favorite movie.

Hardly a perfect life, they're living in poverty! And they had to sell their bedsheets to get the bike!!
