I like Heidi's performance, but there's no malice in her Ursula. I want my villian to be evil and malicious, and not just kind of crazy. When she's explaining the deal, she's sounds so sweet; there's nothing sinister. That's why I'll love Sheri's Ursula better than Heidi's.

OMG!!! I m a judge Sheri fan and she will always be my favorite. But Heidi is in very close second! Each video of her I watch I fall more in live with her in this role she is so psychotic! I wish they could have combined the two! Like I said Sheri is my all time favorite but Heidi is in a very close second!!!

I always thought Ursula was the kind of character only a drag queen can play in live action!!

I have to say that neither actress holds a candle to Pat Carroll. Her vocal performance in the film version is so edgy, nuanced and smokey. And just the vocal acting alone dwarfs both broadway performances. I really wish they would have gotten an actual character actress to play this part. It would have been so much more interesting and fun. Sherie and Heidi seem to both seem to be "playing" evil. Rather than just really commiting.

Her voice is incredible but her acting is not great.
The more I hear this woman, the more I think SHE should have been in the CD recording, not the other lady who's name I forget. I mean, the other woman (Sherie, I think?) is very good, but Heidi adds this amazing, psychotic sort of creepiness to it, and she has an awesome, unconventional voice. While Sherie makes Ursula seem manipulative and cruel, Heidi makes her sound completely off her rocker. And that's awesome, and incredibly hard to do as well as she does.
