What had me stumped ang angry tho when i was doing it was i had to make the thread oposite facing me so when i was turning the tap it wouldnt do anything so i pushed with all my might and turned and turned all it was doing was eating metal... Until i figure out i was turning it backwords becuase i had to do it oposite facing me.. So i kicked myself in the nuts for being dumb
Only thing is i had to get a courser threaded bolt . The old fine thread wouldnt fit in the coil

Dude you made it look easy. I screwed mine up worse than it was on my street bike. =T I thought I could do it myself only to find out that I made it worse. Now I'm going to take it to the shop and let them fix it.

Ok what about an oval hole that was drilled wrong..?

@suzuki250rida you want to take extra care drilling and taping in aluminum and never take any short cuts or you will pay
it is not as forgiving as steal and all ways cut slow and with allot of cutting oil
I need to fix my oil pan the guy I bought the bike from cross threaded it pretty bad do I was considering using an air chuck to blow out the shavings along with brake cleaner and then running some oil through the bike first with the plug off to try and catch and excess trash or what not. What do you think about this and do you have any other suggestions?

@prderrenbacher for the oil drain the air is a good idea but the threading i would just tap it out to a larger bolt hole find a s.a.e (fraction) drain plug that fits like a old ford 302 that is just a tiny bit larger then the metric drain plug that your bike uses
and is not any longer nether then yours and wile you are tapping it out have the air blowing in threw the oil fill and regulate it down to 20psi so you do not blow the case seal's buy mistake
good luck with it

I had to do this to my 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee's brake caliper bolt hole. I bought the Jeep 14 months ago, and just now replaced my front rotors and brakes. After i took the passenger tire off i noticed both caliper bolt holes were stripped... Some knuckle dragger mechanic musta striped them in the past.. Thankfully the helicoil kit worked in fixing it.. Or i would have to replace the entire axle. the knuckle doesnt seperate from it. I didnt think of using locktite on the coil itself tho
