Hey Linus, do you think its a good investment on this sound card right now for 39 to upgrade from P6T SE on board for a 5.1 surround logitech X540? My main complain is that the rear satellites are so quite that I can never hear it. Will this give me more control over the volume of the rear satellites?

I have 9.2 system running on that soundcard

@2008PS3 A digital connection to a quality AV receiver will behave like a sound card. Instead of relying on the $1 chip on your motherboard to convert from digital to analogue (all sound is analogue by nature), you are relying on a $500+ piece of specialized AV equipment to do it, and then amplify the signal.
That's what I do at home, so while I do use onboard sound, I only use it to output directly to a digital signal to my receiver, which does all the work.
