Protecting the US Army and allies in eight nations, Patriot defends against mass attacks by enemy aircraft and missiles. It provides effective air defense at low, medium, and high altitudes with high firepower and wide area coverage. Lockheed Martin, as principal contractor to Raytheon,
produces major missile subsystems, the canister and launcher, and performs final assembly and test of the missile, canister, and launcher.

  • @nguydjkk jajajajaja then patriot pac-3 is worst, these could not stop all old "russian" scud missiles in the iraq war, but u can say what you want i will not be answering racist messanges... USA and Russia have the best anti air-missile systems, and if the russians were stupids why not USA invades russia and stop bothering countries like iraq and afganistan in which it takes years of war without achieving almost anything

  • @SouleXtasis

S-400 is bad. All Russian are stupid and think they are talent

  • The idea to have it on all-terrain vehicles was mainly to have the system very quickly at places difficult to trace and access (sabotage protection) and at the same time to be able to move from place to place on a regular basis in order to disable an enemy targeting. So I thought a one vehicle solution would be best at place.

  • Your are certainly right, but are there any all-terrain vehicles among what you call "individual vehicles"?

  • @ALB437 I know the Patriot is normally spread out over an area, along with it's radar, command vehicle, & logistical support. If they need to move, they just have their individual vehicles go get them, it is much faster than one vehicle carrying several.

But otherwise all the Patriot launchers are normally set up, waiting to fire.

  • @franknbeans4761 - My idea was to have 1 truck ready for a fast deployment wherever required and in difficult accessible terrains. Could be spread all over the country. I have seen the Patriot System in Paris (Le Bourget 2009) and the main vehicle looks more like a loader to me.It is not clear to me what you mean by "Land Train", or which would be the advantage to spread it out on other trucks. Of course looking at a picture the 2 smaller components would have to be minimized to be assembled.

  • @SouleXtasis I agree. I think China may end up being a threat, even the US Congress said there is likely to be a war over Taiwan. That is probably why Taiwan is currently buying billions of dollars worth of US equipment. The next 2 decades should be interesting.

  • @franknbeans4761 Both US and Russian have great weapons, i think that we never see a war among themselves... only proxy wars! and i think that the real US enemy now and for the near future is China and i prefer stay in the US side, personally don´t like a world led by china... so I support and admire the developing and publishing of new weapons for both US and Russians :P

  • @SouleXtasis Yes, that would be interesting to see the S-400 mounted on a ship. I haven't heard of plans to do so but it would be interesting nonetheless.

I do not think it would happen though, because Russia doesn't require a ship with ABM capabilities. They have more of a defensive posture & would only need land based systems rather than large ships to go far away from Russia.

Which may be why Russia builds some fantastic CIWS's. The best in the world actually.
