Another of the legendary Gunfighter Ballads' sung by Marty and his boys Don Winters and Bob Sykes aka Bob Bishop. It was said that Elvis loved to sing these songs when in Germany with the US Army; good taste the King had!

  • There's Marty always trying to make his singers laugh...and in this clip just the opposite happend...Funny stuff! Incase you live on Mars and missed it, it's at 0:47 seconds in the video. Great Stuff! from one of the greatest country artists of all time.

P.S.- It was Marty who first heard the plane crash that sadly took the life of silky voiced Jim Reeves.

  • @5inthehole

They were two of the greatest Nashville Sound singers and though contemporaries they didn't get along which was quite sad.

  • I quite agree with you. I would consider him one of the all time great American vocalists and not just simply a Country singer. There was no kind of music he couldn't tackle and he could write the songs for any genre he chose. To me, he has never received the true recognition his talent deserved.

  • "Artists" just dont sing/harmonize like this anymore. Nor do they have half the talent. This world needs to end in order for good music to reach the promise land lol.

  • My Dad played this record in the 50's and 60's when I was a kid, and I still remember him singing all the words and loving Marty's voice. Thanks for all who post these great walks back in our memories.

  • marty robbins <3

  • What a great song, and sung by a true artist-likes what he's doing and cares about his audience enjoying it as much as he does. What a loss when we lost Marty but at least those of us who are old enough remember when we had him, and great music like this.

  • Marty was simply the best ever-he enjoyed what he was doing so much-totally natural, totally great

  • What a voice. The best singer of a cowboy ballard ever.

  • je suis un fan, j'adore ces titres, grand chanteur, registre enorme.

  • there is always somebody faster than you

  • Love this old songs that tell stories.

  • Gunfighter Ballads....The greatest country music album in history
