I know an interesting thing to do- bet people ANY amount of money that the world won't end at 2012.
If the world does end, money won't matter anymore! We'll all be dead!
If it doesn't end, you've got more money!

I do find it quite unlikely that, a ruddy great meteorite will slip past everyone (who'll be ready for it) and, as well as that, hit Earth, of all places! Mind you, I can't prove it will end but, it says that the World 'as we know it' will end.
Maybe, if we travel to 24th Dec 2012, it might have changed. Maybe we might've evolved or trees might've taken over the world. Sorry for sounding a bit nerdy there.
P.S. Isn't it just typical, though? The day before Christmas! Typical!
