Now I've never been literally poked in the eye with art on a stick. These are figurative pokes people. As I stroll the streets of Ann Arbor being hotboxed by double wide strollers and body inappropriate clothing, I am barraged and inundated by this and this and this. Its enough to make me want the students to come back.
Now its a little known fact that art fair has become less about art, and more about commerce.
Sure there's still plenty of painting and sculpture, but what you're really going to see a preponerance of is art on sticks.
All the Haus fraus and retirees come from the suburbs and exurbs on the auspices of taking in a little culture and they leave with this. And this. And this.
Last night I peed on your art stick both
In the name of beauty and all that's truth
Like cat burgler senaks to your house from the roof
Last night I peed on your art stick both.
Yes I did. Peed on it.

I was poked in the eye with art on a stick
Why'd you have to go and be such a dick?
Its not even art just a dirty ol' trick
That I was poked in the eye with art on a stick
now, I'm not the type to site idly by in the face of such an egregious offense to my sophisticated artistic sensibilities.
So before we all become utterly desensitized to this affront
I decided to take some revenge.

Sure there's still plenty of actual art. There's this and this. There's this and even this.
And let's be honest, no one needs a $10000 trompe loi mannequin to greet visitors as they enter the foille of their well manicured McMansions.
Their children's future therapy bills will someday be high enough without this to fracture their tiny little psyches.
But this, this is a classic overcorrect. This is kitsch. This is where art goes to die.
