Since New Wave is a subgenre of Rock, so I find it
wierd for it to be part of synthpop. I do find New Wave
to be kinda disco-ish, so maybe that could explain
some Italo and New Wave kinda similar.
-
@djbonk77 Synthpop is much a part of New Wave.
-
Baltimora is Synth Pop/Italo disco and not New Wave.
Fun Fun, Raf, Den Harrow, Mike Marreen are Italo Disco. New Wave is a off shoot of Rock, so I think you confusing Synth Pop songs
with New Wave. Italo Disco is a Disco/Synth Pop combo.

@gardabetbet wasn't that a former British shop name too?
-
@deadlysin79 I'm not the only one who claims that Baltimora is New Wave. mandaluyongboy does, even in Wikipedia by this category in Wikipedia - Category:Italian New Wave musical groups
-
@coolmacmac ... ok I rescpect you..Im also into New Wave its epic ..both styles was released at the same time (years) but Fun Fun, RAF and Baltimora ARE NOT new wave its genuine Italo Disco...!!!
..thinks that your the only who claim that Baltimora is new wave..!! go to a record store and find the classic Italo Disco compilations and greatest hits...its name like Fun Fun, Mike Mareen, MyMine, Den Harrow, Sabrina and Baltimora...!
-
@deadlysin79 By how it sounds, it's New Wave/Synthpop. There are some New Wave Bands in Italy such as Den Harrow, Raf, Baltimora, Fun Fun, Krisma & Banshi.
-
@coolmacmac ...its Italo Disco...! ..period! I have the Maxi its the same label as Valerie Dore, Doctors Cat and and the Scotch remixes...
