Enough conflict, carnage, and threats has already taken place. Can anybody think of the total number of people who have died? It was proposed in 1947 to partition Palestine into an Arab state and a Jewish state. Let us go back to that original proposal, because the given is Israel is there to stay, and so are the Palestinians. Instead of making it into a contest of who has the right to be there, and who does not, just create a nation for both to partake in.

Israel created Hamas to counterbalance the PLO. Then, Hamas wins a fair election and Israel and the US attempt to destroy it. I agree that Hamas is a hardline organization very hard to talk to. But the current Israeli parties in power are just as hardline. Why talking to them and not to Hamas? The argument "we must always stand with our friends" is feeble, particularly when those friends are confiscating land and bombarding innocent civilians. I am not a liberal, but Carter's got this one right

President Carter got the peace prize too. You know Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize twelve days after taking office. Upon acceptance of winning it, Obama was praised by the committee, "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy". . They also gave the peace prize to Yasser Arafat, the leader of the PLO, the best known terrorist organization on the globe. This is like giving it to David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK.
