Off of MOD.

To the sound of a heartbeat pounding away
To the rhythm of the awful rusted machines
We toss and turn but don't sleep
Each breath we take makes us thieves
Like causes without rebels
Just talk but promise nothing else

We crawl on our knees for you
Under a sky no longer blue
We sweat all day long for you
But we sow seeds to see us through
The sometimes dreams just don't come true
We wait to reap what we are due

To the rhythm of a time bomb ticking away
And the blare of the sirens combing the streets
Chased down like dogs we run from
Your grasp until the sun comes up

We crawl on our knees for you
Under a sky no longer blue
We sweat all day long for you
But we sow seeds to see us through
The sometimes dreams just don't come true
Look now at what they've done to you

White needles buried in the red
The engine roars and then it gives
But never dies
'Cause we don't live
We just survive
On the scraps that you throw away

I won't crawl on my knees for you
I won't believe the lies that hide the truth
I won't sweat one more drop for you
'Cause we are the rust upon your gears
We are the insects in your ears
We crawl
We crawl
We crawl... all over you

We sow the seeds to see us through
Our days are precious and so few
We all reap what we are due
A judge's sky no longer blue
We bring the dawn all over new
We crawl
We crawl
We crawl... all over you

  • @MenAmongPoodles ya, what I meant was that today's rap pretty much has the same meaning all around, sex, drugs, being BA when you're not, killing. whatever stuff like that, the old stuff is good, and I can stand it, right now, the only meaningful hip hop band of today is probably flobots. but ya, I should of defined what I meant, since that was an ignorant blanket statement.

  • @1blackdeath51501 that's not true, dude. lots of old school hip hop is very meaningful. there are even some good ones out there today. check out lupe fiasco, he's very much into the same causes as this band. from chicago too, fuck yeah.

  • I've got the same guitar as tim :D

  • @r1seagainst182 it would be a great world. lol, shut the fuck up mate. that comment was made over a year ago so just listen to the damn music.

  • @1blackdeath51501 right cuz everyone should like the same music. What fucking great world that would be.

  • tim messed up the lyrics a little bit. at the end of the first chorus its "we wait to reap what we are do." at the end of the song its "we all reap what we are do...under this sky no longer blue..."

  • @thewhitestripes93 you know, not all rap is the same. Generalizing like that is wrong, that's like grouping Rise Against together with mainstream rock, when they're obviously not. In fact, Tim was featured on a song by Flobots called White Flag Warrior. They're a hip hop/rap based group who I and many of my friends who also love Rise Against like. Not all rap is bad, Lupe Fiasco, 2pac, RATM, Flobots, artists like these also send a strong political message.

  • Had enough of cheap trashy pop music? Like real music like this? Visit our channel.

  • @1blackdeath51501 i'm sure Rise Against would appreciate the homophobic comments man!

  • JUS! April 7th at the Long Beach Arena!!

    see ya there :D!
