Look at how ordinary people respond to the unjustified and brutal death of a person they care for, and then compare that response to the way "pro-life Christians" respond to legalized abortion. The comparison is most revealing.
This video is from a disturbing movie called,"Prey", where a lion tribe systematically takes out a family who is stranded on a road, when they try to leave the car.
It has NOTHING to do with abortion (unless you want to say the lions are the ravenous abortionists and the family is the pre-born babies who can't escape the slaughter).
@quemacha Plenty of good literature by Peter Singer on the topic of Infanticide. I think for severely disabled human babies, infanticide should be an option the parents could consider given the infant isn't self-aware. Many atheists will have vary views on this topic though.
You're right though, that brings the argument up a whole new level. This video however isn't that deep.
Planned Parenthood claim to be "pro-choice," yet they constantly fight against parental notification laws (where the parent doesn't have to approve, just be notified), and they constantly fight against conscience clauses for pharmacist (so that they have no choice). There's hypocrisy on both sides, and it's foolish to group all pro-lifers as one thing, or all pro-choicers as another. Besides, even if they're hypocrites, it doesn't make their arguments bad. This is an ad hominem attack.
I am pro-life. I would have done what I could to help that guy and I do what I can to help pregnant women and their babies. I don't get the analogy. And the Iraqi people were dancing in the streets with joy when the twin towers were attacked. Do you think all Iraqi people should be held responsible for the actions of the ones who were dancing in the streets. NO. It is not just to hold all Americans responsible for killing done by some Americans. Dig it?
this analogy is fucking stupid and the exact type of misleading comparison religious fuckwits are forced to undertake in a desperate attempt to prove a point.
The man being attacked is a person who is sentient, self-aware and capable of feeling pain.
A foetus is not an of these things
the whole premise of this argument is that a baby is the same as a self-aware human which it is not.
ffs. even sperm has human dna. so do we kill millions shooting a load. we must be genocidal
I was born unwanted and have been told by pro-lifers "Ha! If you don't like that why don't you kill yourself? Ha!" enough times to be a personnal enemy of their movement. When you are one of those babies they "saved" the only argument they have for you is "Ha!" If they cared about me, why did none pay me tuition so I could go to college? They didn't for me, they wouldn't for anyone else either. They get off the power they unjustly take over poor girls and don't care for the consequences.
I am pro lifer who is TOTALLY OPPOSED to US foreign policy and I was also a fervent activist against the sanctions in Iraq and I actively opposed the atrocities of the Iraq wars, human rights abuses in Palestine etc I also had 3 abortions in my twenties, but am now the happy mother of 2 boys, whose fathers wanted aborted.

@etona66
What about a newborn infant who is not self-aware? Should they be legally protected from being killed?
