  • was that same refresh played over and over or just the same one played faster?

  • That was one clip a second or so.

  • You should have allowed it to continue to speed up until we could recognize the image.

  • Shutup, this is a GOOD use of a slow motion camera, probably the first good idea Ive seen other than fucking water baloons.

GOOD video and something I've always wanted to see in slow motion.

Yes. The phosphors are designed with a certain amount of persistence to minimize flicker. :)

  • That is so wild. So the image actually remains "burned in" for a little bit (microseconds?) before disappearing after the scanline moves on.

  • HOLY SHIT ITS HANNAH MONTANA

  • there are 2 people.one woman ,and the second possibly a man.71% sure that is a talk show.

  • it would be cool if you made one that starts on normal speed. : )

  • Thanks for the clip. Google has a slow motion clip that they are using to advertise the speed of Chrome. It has an LCD in the background and you can see the picture is always "on" and is slowly refreshed from the bottom. Would like to see Plasma.

  • aha! I've been searching EVERYWHERE EVER for a video of a CRT in slow motion! thank you! thank you ultraslo! wow, that truly is cool looking :3

  • thats super interesting..

  • yep thats true, that's why u change anything at it will appear right away in the lcd because it's always refreshing the image so it has the image updated very fast...

That's why nowadays we have 1ms of response...
