Oscar D'Auria is a professional all- around drummer whose activities comprise live performance, studio, programming, method -- writing, teaching, clinic. He studied drumming in Buenos Aires, Argentina with the Maestro Alberto Alcalá and the Real Conservatorio de Madrid, Spain with Professor José María Martín Porrás. Virtually the whole spectrum of musical forms over the world have been and played by him with equal ease, distinctive approach and authority. D'Auria has carried out as a teacher in Argentina, France, Spain and the U.S.A. He holds to his credit the firs rock method for the drumset published in Argentina: AN APPROACH TO ROCK -- now on its eighth printing; his other works are 113 RITMOS and DRUMS -- BATERIA -- DRUMS, professional audio -- CD workbooks for contemporary rhythms plus play -- along tracks, and ACCENTING -- an advanced method on the subjet that also includes examples to apply the material to actual music. As a studio drummer and programmer he may be found in albums of top song artist. Live performance is what captures D'Auria's spirit at its best; his natural area of action are concert halls, TV studios and arenas. Oscar has toured Mexico, Central and South America, the main cities of Japan, the fifteen republics of the U.S.S.R., Spain and France where he stayed performing for two years with his own band and also the honor of playing for a song star in the Olympia of Paris. On'91 -- '92 he moved for two years to the U.S.A. where he played for albums of international song artist, taught drumming in the area of Los Angeles. D'Auria ia a sought after drummer on account of his outsyanding technique, versatilily, sight reading skills, imagination and driving force; he is equally at ease when requested to play in a pub, club, TV studio, concert hall, arena or recording studio.
