I encourage feeding the hungry. But if you choose to do that: make it a kind gesture, with no ulterior motive. With no strings attached. If you want to be good, be good. Don't do it in the name of some institution that has given the world so much grief. It's more real that way.

God will notice.

i'm sorry that fear is how you were taught about God. i teach my children that God will always love them and they can never be plucked from his arms. it's only the spiritually blind that are separated from God.that's their choice. not God's. i think you just like to argue. i myself enjoy debate but you don't have any real points. you just quote my comments and claim that i'm attacking you. if you asked God into your heart as a child and meant it then He will keep fighting for you though us:)

'Listen to myself'? I'm not actually making a sound. I am inanimate text on a screen.

I have no issues with my church, all attendees were well meaning, good people - as far as I knew, at least. I had a problem with the stories. Like eternal firey torture for not believing something entirely impossible to prove. That ruined many a night sleep when I was a child. Another major factor that put me off: teaching fear to children.
