At the 16th Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, Chris Bennett discusses the Holy Anointing Oil that inspired Moses. Check out Bennett's latest book "The Soma Solution" published by Trine Day. See also the August 2009 issue of High Times for the article "The Big Bhang: Pot and Religion," which discusses Bennett's research in detail.
@UniversalBrother108 I am talking from experience. not speculation. Many old teachings are written in code form, or parable, metaphor, the problem with that is people tend to make it mean whatever they want, or use it to push thier own agendas.

@IMBUED I think you are seeing what you wish to see - these traditions are very specific - these are not some abstract inward spiritual experiences they are describing - they are talking about active botanical substances to be used in a very specific way. If there is a problem with his research then directly point it out.

@Cstrife234 Furthermore the United States Food and Drug Administration banned sweet calamus, because its possible pro-carcinogenic properties. If it's used for a psychotropic experience I'd also see why the government would want to supress it (which I don't believe is right, nor correct).

@casualtySR Not only that but Qaneh Bosm(Kanehbosm) doesn't even sound like Calamus. It sounds like Cannabis to me. Two, sweet calamus was used as a psychotropic so it would be kinda silly to use it as a topical healing agent. Not saying calamus doesn't have its spiritual/curative uses.

@IMBUED In Exodus 30:23 there is a recipe for Holy Anointing Oil and it is obviously literal. "Take thou also unto thee principal spices, Pure myrrh five hundred shekels, Sweet cinnamon half so much, Qaneh bosm(Cannabis) two hundred and fifty shekels, Cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin. And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.

@IMBUED Obviously you have no grasp of logic and reason.. when you are ready go do the research I told you to do. then you will see the truth. cannabis does cure cancer and many other things. until then enjoy your ignorance.

@casualtySR The annointing oil is seen in paintings of Krisna aswell, the fountain on the head, its created by the brain, though spiritual practice and transmutation. you can like cannibus all you want but don't apply it to things you dont understand.

@casualtySR Cannibus doesnt cure cancer, it makes the pain bearable, people still die from cancer when they are on cannibus. I am saying the annointing is not cannibus, I didn't argue that it has medical capibilities.
I know what annointing means. Its the goal of hermetic alchemy aswell, its not a external thing or liquid. The problem is, you and the guy i nthis video think all biblical texts are literal historic type stories. in the esoteric sense, its all internal.

@IMBUED whatever... do you think it's just coincidence that Cannabis cures cancer and multitudes of other ailments. go watch Run from the Cure. Google Pubmed and do a search on Cannabinoids and Cancer. Check out the U.S. Government patent on Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectant. It it the most medicinal plant on the planet.
The fact that Jesus used the Holy Anointing Oil to heal lines up perfectly. Qaneh Bosm is Cannabis.

@casualtySR Of course it does't to you. You can't know unless you reached it, and to think you are likley to understand something that was intentionly written to be obscure for good reason,
The thing is people like this make big claims with extremly little research, he's seeing what he wants to see, just like most people on any subject like this.
